FLOATER POSITION

The First Baptist Church of Elkin Playschool is seeking to hire an assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. The position is part-time from 8:45-1:15, Monday through Friday. 

The Playschool seeks to provide an enriching and safe environment for children under our care by making them aware of Christian values, offering socialization for children to grow in their skills, teaching them positive self awareness, and providing age appropriate education for child development. 

The Qualifications for this position are:

  • Is passionate about working with children ages 1 - 5 years

  • Can lift 25 lbs. 

  • Expresses a Christ-like demeanor by being patient and kind with children

  • Willing to undergo a nationwide background check  

  • Childcare experience

  • Must be certified in CPR and First Aid (may be completed upon employment)

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Assisting lead teachers in their classrooms with activities as needed

  • Watching a classroom while teachers escort children to the restroom

  • General supply collection for classroom crafts

  • Assisting with diaper changes

  • Helping with carline procedures as needed

  • Filling in as an assistant teacher when a teacher is absent

Lead Teacher - 2 Year Old Room

The First Baptist Church of Elkin Playschool is seeking to hire a Lead Teacher in the 2 Year Old Room for the 2024-2025 school year. The position is part-time from 8:45-1:15, Monday through Friday. 

The Playschool seeks to provide an enriching and safe environment for children under our care by making them aware of Christian values, offering socialization for children to grow in their skills, teaching them positive self awareness, and providing age appropriate education for child development.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manages the classroom management and teaches daily WeeLearn curriculum

  • Meet with the Director and other lead teachers once a monthly planning meeting

  • Helps the Director with any programs or special events

  • Serves as a primary professional contact for the parents of the children in their classroom

  • Directs their assistants and offers instruction on classroom needs
